To provide assistance to States in negotiating international investment agreements (IIAs) and to review their legal framework in light of international best practices in order to determine their needs and identify their gaps in the overall legal framework for foreign investment.

Assisting parties in initiating mediation, conciliation, arbitration, and/or post-award relief proceedings related to an investment dispute. Providing support in establishing conciliation or arbitration panels/tribunals and in administering subsequent complex procedures...
Services to international organizations
In order to provide pro bono assistance to the countries most in need, MILaw Group conducts institutional capacity building projects and carries out research mandates on important legal issues relating to the link between investment and environment, gender equality, rule of law and access to justice.

Our story
Around the mid-2010s, the tense atmosphere that had always characterized investment relations was exacerbated by a climate of mistrust in the business community and a growing disaffection among states with international economic dispute resolution mechanisms. The solution of transnational arbitration to ease this tension suddenly proved inadequate, leading alone many international investment actors, particularly Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and some small and medium-sized foreign investors. It was from this observation that Mekpo Investment Law (MILaw) was born, driven by its founder's desire to offer a reliable alternative that could serve as an appropriate response to the crisis and, at the same time, be an innovative solution capable of uniting the various currents and positions at play.
