Service Description

MILaw Group aims to offer a comprehensive service for the promotion, facilitation, and protection of foreign investment, without prioritization or limitations of scope, to investors and governments of developing countries. This service is provided proactively, pragmatically, and collaboratively, including upstream and downstream support, which can foster renewed confidence among all parties, and particularly among investors. More specifically, this involves: • Offering parties engaged in an investment relationship consulting, advisory, and technical assistance services on specific legal issues related to international investment law and transnational arbitration. • Assisting parties in initiating conciliation, arbitration, and/or post-award relief proceedings related to investment disputes. Providing assistance in establishing conciliation or arbitration commissions/tribunals and in administering subsequent proceedings, including complex and novel procedures. • Provide assistance to States during the negotiation and renegotiation of international investment agreements (IIAs) and review countries' legal frameworks against international best practices to determine their needs and identify gaps in the overall legal framework for foreign investment. • Assist States in negotiating and renegotiating investment contracts. • Provide institutional capacity-building services to investment-hosting States, particularly the least developed countries (LDCs) that are most in need.
